Founders Tyler Alford and Michael Golding had an opportunity to create a video for Guru Ink and Legionnaire clothing lines. This videos goal was to promote a style T-shirt solely gearing towards all fans of the Oregon Ducks.. With witty comedic anecdotes, choice music, and sheer video/editing magic, this video went viral. It reached the Oregon Ducks headquarters and was approved as an official Ducks video on YouTube. Even NIKE got a taste of their skill sets. Because of all the amazing feedback the duo Decided to start a business revolving around the power of Cinematography. 6 months later Jambot Media was born.

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival’s vision is to create theatre of extraordinary quality in which we proceed with daring to fulfill our artistic dreams. The 1959 Elizabethan Stage was designed by OSF Principal Scenic and Theatre Designer Richard L. Hay and patterned on London’s 1599 Fortune Theatre. The Allen Pavilion encircling the seating area and providing improved acoustics was completed in 1992.

The OSF season runs from late February through the end of October; you’ll find more to do mid-June through September, but tickets are less expensive from February through June and in October.

Winter is an excellent time to visit Jacksonville! It’s a small town with a huge history. In February, come and experience the Annual Chinese New Year Festival. There are a variety of activities for the whole family, all arranged to celebrate the contribution that thousands of Chinese workers made to historic Jacksonville.

This year is the Year of the Dragon, and the celebration takes place Saturday, February 4th, 2012. The Festival kicks-off at 8:00am with the Dragon Flight 5k Fun Run, but for those looking for more casual festivities, the Traditional Chinese Lion and Dragon Dance Parade heralds in the New Year at 10:30am. It will be a fun-filled day of traditional Chinese’s cooking classes, children’s arts and crafts, demonstrations, and (for the first time in Oregon) a live performance by the Loong Mah Ladies Dragon Dance Team!

SPECIAL EVENTS

• 8AM – The Dragon Flight 5K Fun Run – starts at the Bigham Knoll Campus rain or shine. Prior application required.  See www.socca.us for entry rules and form.

• 12PM-1PM – Chinese Cooking Demonstration: A Sesame Seduction (demonstration) by Mohkeed Wong – Admission is $5, tickets are available at the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce.

• 1PM – The Loong Mah Ladies Dragon Dance Team (performance) from San Francisco.  Admission is $5, available at the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce.

The parade will be followed by book-talks, Chinese history lectures, calligraphy presentations, tai-chi and kung-fu demonstrations, children’s activities, and much more.

Tickets for the Chinese Cooking Show and the Main Event Variety Show are $5 each and available at the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce.  All other activities are free.

If you haven’t been to a Third Friday Art Walk in downtown Medford now is your chance to go!  My wife and I find ourselves downtown almost every third Friday to enjoy the art walk and experience Medford come alive.  It is also easy since 541Lives offices are right in the middle of the action!  One of our favorite stops is the Downtown Market Company.  Many times they have wine tasting and food pairings.  Check their website for details.

The Rundown: The Third Friday Art walk is a self-guided tour that will take you through Main Street featuring local art galleries, art studios, museums, wine tasting, food pairing and much more on the third Friday of every month begining at 5:00pm -8:00 pm.

This is a monthly event that brings together friends and members of the community to the heart of downtown Medford to socialize, eat, drink, listen to live music and make new discoveries in Old Town.

This event is organized by the Heart of Medford association.
