Hot Coffee!
Downtown Grounds, located in downtown Medford, is a unique little coffeehouse. It is tri-leveled with the prepping area on the first, tables and chairs on the second, and a nice big window on the third with a great view of the Medford Woolworth building. All their drinks are made right on the spot and their coffee is supplied locally by the award winning GoodBean Coffee Company. Did I mention, they have free WiFi!
Cold Brew
If you’re a coffee enthusiast, ask about their cold brew coffee. It’s a brew that is steeped overnight. You end up with concentrate that is about 70% less acidic. That means you get all the rich subtleties of coffee without all that bitterness! Mix it with milk, cream, water or drink it straight black, over ice. Add in a dash of chocolate or caramel, not to mask the bitterness, but to enhance the smoothness…
Blended Coffees and Fruit Smoothies
They also have fantastic blended/frozen drinks with no ice chunks!! Try the Peanut Butter Thing, it’s a frozen mocha with real peanut butter blended right in.. Or get a strawberry-banana smoothie with real banana! And then there’s the Cookies ‘n Mocha with Oreos in it! My suggestion is to get that and have them add in a scoop of peanut butter. YUM! Or if you’re a skeptic, there’s always the good old standard Frozen Mocha or Latte.. you won’t be disappointed!
Location
Across the street from the Woolworth building, in between 38 Central (which is a GREAT restaurant, by the way… delicious food and a wonderful staff) and Western States Insurance.
