Craterian Ginger Rogers Theater

The Craterian Ginger Rogers Theater is southern Oregon’s state-of-the-art community performing arts center. With just enough glamour for a fancy evening out and never failing to provide a wide array of entertainment at decent prices, the Craterian is absolutely one venue to be visited.

The Craterian Theatre opened in 1924 as a vaudeville house and also featured silent films. In its later life it functioned primarily as a first-run feature film venue. In the early 1990s, the community of southern Oregon launched a campaign to raise over $5 million to renovate the theater as a live performing arts venue, and on March 1, 1997, the theater reopened as the Craterian Ginger Rogers Theater.  Built in 1924 and renovated in 1997, much history is housed in this theater.

As the anchor to downtown Medford’s urban renewal, the Craterian is a treasure of the Rogue Valley – fostering the development of the performing arts.
